NEW Partnership – UHS
On 21 August 2017, J&J was awarded two (2) contracts through the U.S. Army Health Contracting Activity Health Readiness Contracting Office to provide maintenance and repair services for Medical Device/Medical Device Systems (MD/MDS). This is a new business line for J&J, but a natural extension to the services we provide through our Medical Support Division. For this opportunity, we partnered with Universal Hospital Services, Inc. (UHS) as a Major Subcontractor for the following Single Award Task Order (SATOC) contracts:
- U.S. Army Medical Command (MEDCOM)
- #W81K04–17–D–0012 ($84M) [32 locations]
- Air Force Medical Services (AFMS)
- #W81K04–17–D–0013 ($64M) [62 locations]
WHO IS UHS: Prime Contractor with (75+) Years Maintaining MD/MDS, to include repairing Biomedical Equipment, Equipment Leasing, and Staffing Facilities with BMETs.
- (20,000+) OEM and 3rd Party Vendor transactions per year
- (500,000+) parts procured per year
- (500+) BMETs nationally
GOAL: UHS and J&J to provide a single–source solution that will bridge any service delivery gaps created by limitations in manpower, skills sets, or parts sourcing.
PURPOSE: These contracts will provide supplemental Medical Equipment Maintenance support to the Government Clinical Engineering teams to maintain maximum equipment uptime and availability for the effective delivery of high quality patient care. Through these contract vehicles, we will provide scheduled and unscheduled maintenance services utilizing UHS’ in–house technicians or specialty subcontractors, to include the Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs). In addition, these contracts will be utilized to procure parts for installation by Government Biomedical Equipment Technicians (BMETs).
