I am proud to announce that Armando Flores (JR), Maintenance Supervisor at Brooke Army Medical Center (BAMC), has become our newest American Society for Healthcare Engineering (ASHE) Certified Healthcare Facility Manager (CHFM).
JR has been a member of the J&J team since 1 October 2001, but began working at BAMC long before its grand opening in 1997. He actually started working at BAMC during the construction phase of the hospital in 1993.
Certified Healthcare Facility Manager (CHFM) – The CHFM certification is provided by the American Health Association (AHA) to promote the profession of healthcare facility management. The CHFM certification recognizes facility managers for their experience and expertise in a healthcare environment and their devotion to continued personal and professional growth. This premier credential is based on a sound assessment that provides distinction in an increasingly competitive marketplace. The test consists of 110 questions pertaining to the following Healthcare Engineering processes:
- Code Compliance
- Hospital Planning, Design & Construction
- Maintenance & Operations
- Finance Management
WHY BECOME CERTIFIED? The CHFM credential has become a standard for employment throughout the world and the requirement continues to grow. Individuals who have earned their CHFM are recognized by their peers and senior management which can lead to advancement and other career opportunities.
Earning the CHFM credential is a reflection of JR’s expertise in the healthcare O&M environment, as well as his commitment to Continuous Improvement within an extremely competitive industry.
